I hope my posts are more insightful, and more entertaining, than my personal description. I've lived in Idaho with my wonderful family (some of whose members are now my bi-coastal family) for forty years. My political interest was ignited by Tammany Hall in my birth city of NY, and by the ability to vote either Democratic OR Republican in NY state and still get darn good elected officials. Not so in Ohio, where I did my graduate work and met my wonderful wife. In Ohio--long before electronic voting machines that may have stolen the state and the election for dubya in 2004--even some of the Democrats were right-wingers, and the Republicans bordered on being fascists. I'm a political middle-of-the-roader, promulgating views from any perspective that may help people. Some people familiar with my views have suggested I make them more available by creating this blog. I'm retired from my professoring and deaning, and enjoy supporting the arts, watching/investing in the market (more the former than the latter), and especially prognosticating and polemicizing on presidential elections. And I also enjoy alliterating. Be warned. And enjoy reading and commenting on my blog.
